Frequently Asked Questions Pedigree CD
When will the new edition be published?
-New editions of the Pedigree CD are published in may/june of the subsequent year.
When I select my breed, not all litters are shown. Why?
- It is possible that a breed name has changed during the time span of the CD. This might happen in breeds who first had a name in Dutch and which was later changed into the language of their native country, or vice versa. This might also happen when varieties are split up or divided for registration (for instance: smooth/rough). A Single breed can therefore appear in the list under more than one name.
If you are sure your data is missing, check the breed list carefully again to see if your breed is mentioned under a alternative name. When you have found the second name, select this as well and the combination of both selections will give you the complete overview.
Various litters which were born in the time span of the CD are missing. Why is this?
- The data on the CD concern dogs registered in the mentioned period. It is therefore not the day of birth which determines inclusion on the CD but the moment the breeder applied for pedigrees (for example, if dogs born in 2006 are to be included on the CD they must be registered during this period). For some of the 2006 puppies the pedigrees were not issued in 2006.
Various champions in my breed are missing. Why?
- The data on the ‘Stamboek CD’ concern dogs whose title of Dutch Champion, Dutch Junior Champion or Dutch Veteran Champion were registered by the Raad van Beheer in the mentioned time span.
Dogs with titles registered abroad and dogs who won their Dutch title before 1997 will not appear on the champions list. Titles won abroad are not mentioned in the champions listing. They may however be mentioned in the description of the dog in litters, when the dogs concerned are the sire or dam.
Some litters of the mentioned champions are missing. Why?
- Here again, you will find only littlers registered in the period, not the ones born. Litters born before 1997 are not included. The number of litters actually produced by a certain dog may therefore be higher than mentioned in the champions list.
I want to copy the data from the Pedigree CD to my own database. Is that possible or permitted?
No, that is not possible and it is not permitted. Due to privacy legislation you are not allowed to copy the data into your own database. Therefore you would need the permission of each individual owner of each mentioned dog. There are no exceptions to this rule for private owners of the pedigree CD.
My computer has crashed. I want to re-install the Stamboek CD with my code, but I get a message that the code is already in use. What should I do?
- To prevent fraudulent use the programme can be installed only once with the given code.
When a crash causes you to re-install, you have to apply for a new code at stamboek.cd@kennelclub.nl, and give your name and code. We check and register these as a means of preventing fraudulent use. After verifying such a request you will receive a new code which allows you to re-install the CD.
